The Education Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing the medical/healthcare educational activities for Orange City Area Health System. The Coordinator is responsible for all medical/healthcare classes such as BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, NRP etc. He/she schedules classes, communicates with staff who are required to take classes, enrolls students in the appropriate class, requests CEs etc. He/she should be willing to become an instructor for some classes in the future. The Coordinator will be involved in hospital nursing service competencies, helping to orient new staff to the medical/surgical floor and may be involved in other nursing or administrative projects. He/she will be responsible for organizing the hospital nurses’ skills fair. He/she should be willing to be the president of Nursing Council. Number of Hours: Part-time: 16-24 hours/week. The IT Support Specialist is responsible for the configuration, installation, and maintenance of desktop/laptop computers, printers, scanners, phones, and their associated software. The Specialist provides Help Desk support, as well as tracking service tickets and coordinating work requests. The Specialist maintains the inventory of equipment, licenses and Microsoft Office subscriptions. Assists with web-site maintenance and digital media/editing projects. The IT Support Specialist works in tandem with our IT Support Specialist/Phone System Administrator. Number of Hours: 40/week Schedule: 8:00am – 4:30pm Educational Requirements: Associate degree in computer science, information systems, or other information technology related field. The Server assists with meal set up by serving beverages. He/she serves the meal, clears the tables, and cleans the dining room. He/she performs housekeeping and dishwashing duties. Number of Hours: Casual: 5-10 hours/week Schedule: 4:30pm – 7:00pm, 1-2 evenings a week, and every other weekend from 11:00am – 1:15pm, Sat & Sun, with one 4:30-7:00 shift every other weekend. Fill-in as needed for staff absences. Educational Requirements: Applicants must be at least 14 years old. The Physical Therapy Receptionist performs duties including inpatient and outpatient admissions/scheduling, receiving and directing phone calls, typing, copying, filing and general office duties. Number of Hours: Full-Time: 32-40 hours/week Part-Time: 16-31 hours/week Schedule: Mon-Fri. either 7:30am – 4:30pm or 8:00am – 5:00pm. Actual days scheduled may vary. Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent required. Post high school secretarial training, medical or computer training preferred. The RN delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. He/she is required to carry out all general staff duties in acute care. The Surgery Circulating Nurse plans, directs, and supervises activities in the delivery of quality, cost effective patient care in Surgery, Central Supply, Scope Procedure Room and Recovery Room. The Receptionist is responsible for answering the phone, registering patients, and conducting basic office duties such as copying, typing, assembling and other duties as assigned. This receptionist is located in the ER reception area and works closely with the ER staff and the Hospital nurses’ station. Confidentiality, professionalism and a high level of customer service is required. The Resident Associate – LPN performs duties assisting in the well being of Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community tenants. The Resident Associate cleans apartments, does laundry, makes beds, and cleans common areas in independent living and assisted living areas of the building. He/she assists tenants with minimal personal cares, serves meals in dining rooms, and assists with recreational activities. He/she utilizes nurse skills to provide quality tenant care in the IL and AL setting, under the direction of the RN. This may include medication management, assessments, and assisting with establishment and carrying out of service plans. The Medical Clinic Nurse delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. She/he assists in patient teaching and is a link between the medical provider and patients. This versatile Cook prepares meals for residents, staff, patients, and visitors. He/she prepares and serves customers at three Orange City Area Health locations and is involved in clean up. This cook will work all shifts, adjusting his/her schedule as needed. When not working a shift, this flexible person will be asked to assist management in whatever duties they need completed. This position works at Prairie Ridge Care Center, Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community, and the Hospital — and will receive an additional pay premium! Number of Hours: Full-time 32 – 37.5 hours/week Schedule: 4 shifts one week; 5 shifts the following, alternating weekends and alternating holidays as needed. This position will be trained for shifts that may start from as early as 5:30am – 1:30pm or as late as 4:30pm – 8:30pm. Schedule is typically communicated 3weeks in advance. The PM Grill Cook prepares grill items for hospital patients, staff and guests. He/she assists the cook as needed, washes dishes, cleans the kitchen, cafeteria and dining areas of the hospital. Number of Hours: Casual: 0-14 hours/week Schedule: Casual 4:00 pm – 8:30 pm, no set schedule – pick up shifts as needed. Every other weekend and holiday. Educational Requirements: He/she must take Modified Diet and Sanitation self study courses within 3 months of hire. Must be able to read and understand directions and work independently. Previous grill experience desirable. Other: The applicant must have outstanding customer service skills, be consistently pleasant and able to converse with patients and visitors. He/she must be organized, have the desire to help others and see work needing to be done.
The Cook Assistant works with the cook to set up meal trays for patients. He/she delivers patient trays and is involved in clean up. The Cook Assistant has responsibility for washing dishes, operating the dish machine, and doing assigned cleaning. He/she puts away dishes, stocks items, and helps in the cafeteria. May cross-train as a cook. Number of Hours: Casual: 8-10 hours/week Schedule: 4:00 pm – 8:00pm or after, every other weekend & holiday rotation. The Prairie Ridge Care Center (PRCC) Host/Hostess is largely responsible for setting the welcoming, home like atmosphere in the cottage to which she/he is assigned. She/he sets tables, greets residents coming to the dining room, serves the meals, clears tables, runs the dish machine in the cottage, attends to assigned cleaning tasks, does scheduled activities with residents, serves snack times for residents, staff and visitors, and in general watches over and spends time with residents making the cottage a home.
