Gifts for patients

Visitors should check with the patient care team or the nurse’s station before bringing gifts of food or drink to patients, to ensure it is appropriate for the patient’s medical needs.

Gift Garden gift shop

The Gift Garden is conveniently located near the front lobby of our campus, between the hospital and the clinic. Staffed by volunteers, with all proceeds going directly to the health system’s Auxiliary to help fund needed equipment and services, it features greeting cards, baby gifts, plush toys, home decor, clothing, accessories and jewelry, and seasonal merchandise. The shop also carries snacks, balloons, and freshly-brewed coffee. Hours of operation are:

Monday-Friday 9:30 am-4:30 pm

Food service

Our dietary team is committed to preparing and providing high quality, nutritious, and delicious foods for our patients, families, staff, and visitors. The menu found in your room includes all the options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Please ask your nurse or care team for assistance, or to check on any special dietary restrictions or needs prescribed for you during your stay. The Puddle Jumper Grille, located on the lower level, features a variety of options and is open the following hours for your family and visitors:

Breakfast: 7-10:30 am
Noon meal: 11:30 am-1:30 pm
Evening meal: 5-6:30 pm
Grill menu available: 7-10:30 am; 11am-4:30 pm; 5-6:30 pm


Free coffee, hot tea, and Crystal Light are available 24 hours/day. Vending machines for snacks and beverages are located next to our retail pharmacy. There are nourishment centers on both wings of the hospital with complimentary snacks and beverages. Orange City Area Health System is committed to the health of our environment as well as our patients, utilizing environmentally-safe products throughout our facilities where possible. That includes drinkware and dishes; Styrofoam cups and containers are available upon request only.

Parking

Parking for patients and visitors is available in the lots directly north and south of the hospital. Handicap parking is available near the entrances. Patients and visitors are asked not to park in the reserved areas or certain designated areas.

Mail delivery

Mail is delivered directly to your room each weekday morning. Mail should be addressed as follows:

Interpreters

If you or a family member does not speak English and would like an interpreter, please contact your nurse or a social worker.

Local newspapers

Several area newspapers are delivered to the hospital daily or weekly and can be found in the family waiting areas.

Educational materials

A literature rack is located near the nurses’ station. A variety of brochures on procedures, topics, and services is available for patients, family members, and visitors.

Resource center

Our Resource Center is located near the Puddle Jumper Grille on the lower level of the hospital. It houses resources for our patients, their families, and our employees, including educational/medical literature and books that may be checked out. There are also computers available with free Wi-Fi access. It is open 24/7/365.

Computers and wi-fi

In addition to the Resource Center, there are public computers located in the hospital waiting areas for patient and guest use. The waiting areas include the hospital floor, surgery center, and the family room next to the chapel. Wi-fi is available for all devices and does not require a password.
