Primary care includes health promotion, disease prevention, health maintenance, counseling, patient education, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. Your primary care team at Orange City Area Health System is your main point of entry into the health care system and the continuing focal point for all needed health care services, providing you with ready access to your own personal physician.
Orange City Area Health System is a comprehensive health system encompassing three family medicine clinics, a walk-in clinic, ER/emergency medicine, sports medicine clinic, behavioral health clinic, award-winning hospital, birth center, surgical center, radiology and laboratory services, occupational health services, specialty outreach services, physical and occupational therapy, home health and hospice, a retirement community, and a senior care center. The health system campus – designed with privacy and total healing as its foundation – is situated on 37 acres, including a pond with fountain, a healing garden, and a field of prairie grasses and wild flowers adjacent to the PuddleJumper Trail. A team of family medicine providers, along with dedicated nurses, medical specialists, and 600 support staff, are committed to serving the region with the Core Values of Integrity, Commitment to Excellence, Dedicated Colleagues, and Extraordinary Customer Experience. Our team of physicians and advance-level practitioners offers you and your family a choice of providers with various years of experience, special interests, and even personalities. This depth and breadth also allows our doctors to expand into their areas of expertise while also serving the broad range of family health care needs among our population. Examples of special areas of interest and expertise include fertility care, prenatal and obstetrics care, dermatologic screenings, sports medicine, women’s health, geriatrics, and wellness. This not only gives you – our patients and the families we serve – an expanded choice in family medicine providers, but also the opportunity to receive a larger range of services right here in our clinics.

Plus an extra measure of privacy, from our hospital to our senior care center.
Another way we serve the “whole” person is by integrating behavioral health with family medicine. In addition to being co-located in our Orange City Family Practice Clinic, our Behavioral Health Clinic attempts to provide a truly integrated service in which family medicine providers and behavioral health providers work together as part of collaborative team to best serve the needs of the patient.
