ORANGE CITY AREA PHARMACY PREPARES TO OPEN

Marty Guthmiller, CEO of Orange City Area Health System, announced the opening of a new retail/outpatient pharmacy at the health system’s main campus in Orange City to serve patients throughout the region. Orange City Area Pharmacy is scheduled to open December 4, and will be managed by Jeff Waldner, Pharm.D. Waldner joined the health system’s new retail pharmacy after serving as Pharmacist in Charge at the Hy-Vee Pharmacy in Cherokee and Marcus. Prior to that he served as Staff Pharmacist at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove. Waldner is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, and Iowa State University. “We are fortunate to have someone with Jeff’s background join our team,” said Guthmiller. “It will be our intent to offer value-added service, including the filling of prescriptions upon hospital discharge and from an emergency room visit.” Orange City Area Pharmacy will offer prescription medications for sale in the storefront located in the hallway at the health system that connects the front lobby and the ER. Hours operation will be Monday-Friday, 8am-6:30pm In addition to this retail pharmacy, Orange City Area Health System’s inpatient pharmacy provides medications for patients during hospital stays, and its two clinical pharmacists personally consult with doctors and patients both on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
