PUBLIC IS INVITED TO TAKE THE “100-DAY CHALLENGE”

Live Healthy Sioux County offers incentives for teams to achieve weight loss and fitness goals

Members of the community are encouraged to gear up for a fun 100 days of challenge and inspiration as part of the “Live Healthy Iowa” initiative. A friendly competition among towns in Sioux County is part of a collaborative “Get Healthy Sioux County” program, where teams of 2 to 10 people can compete for prizes while getting in shape.

The Orange City registration dates are Tuesday, January 18, and Wednesday, January 19, from 7-9am, 11:30am-1:30pm, and 4-8pm at the Orange City Area Fitness Center on Highway 10 East. To sign up a team prior to these dates, call 707-9494 or email [email protected]. Cost is $20 per person ($5 off with the HyVee coupon).

The fee includes prizes and incentives, a T-shirt, magazine subscription, weekly fitness and nutrition tips, free workouts at OC Fitness and Northwestern College student center on select dates, and free informative Lunch-n-Learns. The first 30 people to sign up will also receive a free pedometer.

Locally, this program is sponsored by Orange City Area Health System, together with the City of Orange City, Northwestern College, Orange City Area Fitness, Therapeutic Health Services, and Orange City Physical Therapy.
