The Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical team who works with other personnel in delivering quality care to the patient and assumes responsibilities pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-operatively. He/she demonstrates technical competence and knowledge of aseptic technique, operating room policies and procedures, equipment, and supplies and instruments used in the operating room. He/she must possess well developed critical thinking skills and positive interpersonal relationships. The tech utilizes appropriate age related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. He/she adheres to the philosophy, mission and Core Values of Orange City Area Health System in all aspects of job performance.
Number of Hours: Part-time: 24 hours/week
Schedule: Surgeries are typically scheduled Monday – Friday from 7am–4pm. 3 days/week plus fill in for absences and busy surgery days. Includes weekend, weekday and holiday call on a rotating basis.
Educational Requirements: Certified Scrub Tech required.
