Performs a variety of clinical laboratory tests, procedures and related duties according to established standards and regulations for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. He/she will work with self-discipline, good judgment, and considerable independence while following established standards of practice. Day-to-day duties include quality control, quality assurance, procedure and instrument maintenance. He/she must be proficient in assigned areas and willing to learn new technology.
Number of Hours: Part Time or Full Time: Approximately 52 – 75 hours/pay period.
Schedule: 2-5 days/week: Monday – Friday 6am–9pm. Rotating shifts. Includes weekends and call rotation shared with 11 other techs. On-call room available in hospital for overnight stays.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent. Education must meet the requirements defined by CLIA. MLS(ASCP) or MLT(ASCP) certification preferred.
Other: He/she must work well with patients and staff in the utmost professional and confidential manner. Flexibility in job duties is a must. He/she must be a good communicator and team player.
