Orange City Area Health System CEO Marty Guthmiller announced the signing of Suzanne Kersbergen, D.O. to the health system’s family practice medical staff. Dr. Kersbergen, currently at Mercy Family Medicine Residency in Mason City, Iowa, will join Orange City Area Health System in July 2014. “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Kersbergen and family to our health care team and community,” said Guthmiller. “We are committed to first-class family practice from both the perspective of the patient and the physician, offering a full range of services one would expect and then some.” Dr. Kersbergen received her Doctorate of Osteopathy from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medical School. Prior to residency at Mercy Mason City, she was a resident at Scott and Family White Family Practice Residency in Temple, TX. Undergraduate studies in biology were at several colleges, as she and her husband Alan – currently a med-evac pilot for Mercy – lived in various military installations during his service as a helicopter pilot with the U.S. Army. “Dr Kersbergen will not only complement our existing providers but add additional obstetric and emergency room coverage,” reported Guthmiller. “But more importantly, both her and her husband are quality individuals that will make our community and organization better.” The Kersbergens have two children and will make their home in Orange City.
