NURSE PRACTITIONER RECEIVES WOC CERTIFICATION

Serves in health system’s Wound, Ostomy, Continence, and Foot Care clinic

Kendra Schroeder ARNP, CWOCFCN, a nurse practitioner with Orange City Area Health System serving in their Wound, Ostomy, Continence (WOC) and Foot Care clinic in Orange City, completed the webWOC Nursing Education Program, which is accredited by the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurses Society, in partnership with Metropolitan State University, Minneapolis. She completed 150 clinical practicum hours through Sanford Wound Healing Clinic in Sioux Falls, and received certification through the WOC board in March. Board certification demonstrates that the nurse has “an ongoing, personal commitment to specialty education and professional growth that leads to quality patient care.”

The WOC clinic at Orange City Area Health System provides specialized patient care to solve or manage various concerns. As a WOC nurse, Schroeder provides support, care, and education for inpatients and outpatients with skin problems, incisions, non-healing wounds and pressure ulcers, ostomies, and urinary or fecal incontinence.
