Clinical Pharmacy

Clinical Pharmacy

The Clinical Pharmacists are responsible for monitoring and managing patients' medications in our hospital and medical clinics. They play a crucial role in educating patients about new medications during their hospital stay, ensuring they understand how to use them correctly at home and informing them about the potential side effects. Additionally, the Clinical Pharmacists visit patients at the clinic and assist with Medicare Wellness Visits while reviewing their medication lists. This ensures that our patients are taking medications that are effective, safe and affordable.

The Clinical Pharmacists stay up-to-date with the latest medication guidelines and work closely with patients who require medication treatment. They offer a range of services in the clinic, including helping patients who are having difficulty affording their medications by finding cost-effective alternatives. They also work with patients on blood thinners to adjust their medications, educate them on the correct use of inhalers, review medication lists to identify any drugs that do not work well together and could be causing side effects, and provide information on smoking cessation options, following up with patients to encourage them. Lastly, the Clinical Pharmacists collaborate with physicians to select the best medication that will work in harmony with their other medications and health concerns.
