Surgical Technologist

The Surgical Technologist is a member of the surgical team who works with other personnel in delivering quality care to the patient and assumes responsibilities pre-operatively, intra-operatively and post-operatively. He/she demonstrates technical competence and knowledge of aseptic technique, operating room policies and procedures, equipment, and supplies and instruments used in the operating room. He/she must possess well-developed critical thinking skills and positive interpersonal relationships. The tech utilizes appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
