Vermeer assumes national leadership role

[et_pb_section bb_built=”1″][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=”2_3″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.0.92″ background_layout=”light”] Sharon Vermeer, Dietary Manager at Prairie Ridge Care Center, which is owned and operated by Orange City Area Health System, was recently inducted as president of the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP). Vermeer has served on the national board of ANFP for the past six years, and prior to that was on the Iowa board. She has been a Certified Dietary Manager for 21 years. A Certified Dietary Manager (CDM®) and Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP®) has the education, training, and experience to competently perform the responsibilities of a dietary manager, and has proven this by passing a nationally-recognized credentialing exam, according to the ANFP. There are 14,000 members of ANFP across the United States, and Vermeer took the reigns as president at their annual meeting in Orlando, FL, on June 2. “The best thing about being a Certified Dietary Manager is the education,” reported Vermeer. We are required to have 45 hours of continuing education every three years. That means we are constantly kept up to date on food and sanitation, allowing us to ensure the safety of our residents, patients, staff, and visitors.”   [/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_3″][et_pb_image _builder_version=”3.0.92″ src=”http://kpth130275site.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/sharon-vermeer-one.jpeg” show_in_lightbox=”off” url_new_window=”off” use_overlay=”off” always_center_on_mobile=”on” force_fullwidth=”off” show_bottom_space=”on” custom_padding=”12px|12px|12px|12px” /][et_pb_image _builder_version=”3.0.92″ src=”http://kpth130275site.wpengine.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Sharon-Vermeer-ANFP-president.jpeg” show_in_lightbox=”off” url_new_window=”off” use_overlay=”off” always_center_on_mobile=”on” force_fullwidth=”off” show_bottom_space=”on” custom_padding=”12px|12px|12px|12px” /][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
